Kazuki Hosokawa, director of Lost Judgment, recently gave an interview to The Gamer site to talk about the studio’s upcoming release. During the conversation he commented that he would like to explore other countries in a game of the Yakuza franchise.

The creator said the studio plans to continue its global releases in future titles, highlighting the possibility for Yakuza characters to face new challenges and adventures in countries other than Japan. Developers also seem interested in attracting more and more audiences outside of their home country. .

Yakuza recreates real locations for the game world, with very subtle changes where you need them, but with impressive fidelity in most settings. One of the most well-known locations in the series is Kamurocho, a fictional neighborhood mirrored by Kabukicho, which exists. The final game in the series is set in Yokohama, which will also host Lost Judgment, the latest game from studio Ryu Ga Gotoku.

Lost Judgment will be released for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S globally on September 24. There are no plans to port the game to PC yet.
