Three chosen to play in the USILA Senior match

TROY, NY – A trio of student-athletes will represent Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in the 2022 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Senior All-Star Game as Connor Glosner, Trevor Tocchet and Cooper Urban were each selected. The competition is scheduled for Friday at 5 p.m. on the campus of Providence College.

One offence, Glosner (Auburn, NH/Derryfield) led the Engineers in goals with 31 and points with 39 this season. Two of his goals came and he added eight assists on a team record 90 shots, 65 of which were on the net. Glosner scored 27 ground balls and four resulted in turnovers. In 29 career games, the Computer Science and Systems and Applied Mathematics double major has scored 46 goals with 16 assists for 62 points.

Tocchet (Pittsburgh, PA/Mt. Lebanon), a computer science major, has played 21 career games on defense for RPI, including as a starter in all 16 competitions this year. He scored twice with 24 ground runs and 11 turnovers as he helped the team to a 10-6 record and a berth in the NCAA Tournament.

One offense, Urban (Glen Mills, PA/Salesianum School) also started all 16 games, tallying 18 goals and 19 assists for 37 points. He was first on the team in assists and second in points, while collecting 15 rushed balls and four in turnovers. In 39 career games, the biology and economics double major scored 70 goals with 45 assists for 115 points, winning Liberty League Rookie of the Year in 2019.

With its three winners, Rensselaer has now had 80 competitors in the Senior All-Star Game, which dates back to 1946. RPI had four winners in the original contest.
