Sony State of Play June 2022 – All Games, Trailers & Ports Revealed

PlayStation has unveiled a diverse lineup of upcoming games at State of Play (June 2022). Here are all the announcements, trailers, and ports.

To kick off Summer Game Fest 2022, PlayStation hosted a new 30-minute State of Play event, filled with a diverse lineup of upcoming games. From unexpected new reveals to updates on long-awaited titles, the June 2022 State of Play had something for everyone.

Many fans claim that the last PlayStation showcase was one of the best in State of Play event history, and if you’re someone who missed the show completely, don’t worry. Here’s a recap of all the new video game announcements, trailers, and ports revealed during the June 2022 State of Play.

Resident Evil 4 Remake

  • Platform – PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

After being rumored for years, Capcom has finally lifted the lid on Resident Evil 4 Remake and shown a glimpse of this modern reimagining of a 17-year-old classic that shaped the action-horror genre.

Resident Evil 4 Remake is said to feature a darker tone than the original and is rumored to connect (in terms of lore) with Resident Evil Village. Capcom has also confirmed that additional RE 4 content is in development for PS VR2.

PS VR2 version of Resident Evil Village

Alongside Resident Evil 4 Remake, Capcom has unveiled a new Resident Evil Village trailer for Sony’s upcoming PS VR2. Resident Evil 7 has arrived on the original PS VR, so this announcement shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. Unfortunately, Resident Evil Village on PS VR2 does not have a release date at this time.

Street Fighter 6

Capcom officially unveiled Street Fighter 6 with a small teaser earlier this year. However, during Sony’s State of Play event in June 2022, the company finally showed off a three-minute trailer, previewing the game’s new and recurring setting, story, and characters. also showed off the brutal and elegant gameplay that shaped the series’ reputation.

Horizon Call of the Mountain

Horizon Call of the Mountain is a PS VR2 launch title set in the post-post-apocalyptic world of the Horizon franchise. Co-developed by Guerrilla Games and Firesprite, the Horizon Call of the Mountain announcement trailer gives a first look at the main protagonist, Ryas, a former hunter from Carja, alongside some of the flora and fauna whom you can expect to encounter in this glorious future. PS VR2 title.

Guerrilla Games also announced a New Game Plus mode for Horizon Forbidden West alongside other highly requested features such as Ultra Hard difficulty mode, transmog feature, and other quality of life improvements.

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners Chapter 2: Retribution

  • Platforms – PC, PS VR, PS VR2, Oculus Rift, Oculus Quest and Oculus Quest 2.

The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners Chapter 2 is the sequel to 2020’s VR first-person survival horror game Saints and Sinners. The physics-based combat of the original returns in Saints and Sinner Chapter 2 with better visuals and an arsenal of powerful and unique new weapons.

rollerdrome

  • Platforms – PC, PS4 and PS5.

Rollerdrome is a futuristic part-skating shooter from the developers behind OlliOlli World. To survive in Rollerdrome, you must always be on the move. Performing tricks will give you ammo to take out your enemies in style and survive the Rollerdrome.

eternal nights

  • Platforms – PC, PS4, PS5.

Eternights is a part Persona-inspired dating sim and part action RPG. When you’re not going on dates with your comrades, you’ll explore dungeons and fight vicious monsters to save the world from meeting an untimely demise.

The Callisto Protocol

  • Platforms – PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

Callisto Protocol is a brutal third-person survival horror game from the makers of Dead Space. You play as Jacob Lee, a prisoner of Black Iron Prison in Jupiter’s moon Callisto, who suddenly finds himself surrounded by strange alien creatures called Biophage.

The latest trailer previews some of the weapons you can use to battle the vicious Biophage creatures you’ll encounter while exploring the hauntingly beautiful but desolate Callisto.

Wander

  • Platforms – PC, PS4, PS5 and PS Plus Extra and Premium

Annapurna Interactive’s highly anticipated Cyberpunk-like game about playing as a stray cat finally has a release date. The game’s State of Play trailer revealed various vibrant and desolate locations you’ll explore, alongside NPCs you’ll encounter on your way home.

Tunic

2022’s indie title Tunic is finally heading to PlayStation, and publisher Finji revealed a brand new trailer for the same during June 2022’s State of Play event. The isometric action-adventure title puts you in the shoes of a cute fox as you explore a fantasy world brimming with ancient powers and battle fierce monsters.

No Man’s Sky for PS VR2

Hello Games’ space simulator, No Man’s Sky, is coming to PS VR2. Luckily, 2016’s sleeper hit is already available on PS VR, and now the developers are hard at work optimizing No Man’s Sky to take full advantage of PS5 and PS VR2.

Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Miles Morales for PC

The next big PlayStation exclusive on PC is none other than the mega-hits of 2017 and 2020: Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, respectively, which Sony announced at its latest State of Play event.

The PlayStation Blog further revealed some improvements that PC gamers could expect, such as mouse and keyboard support, adjustable render settings, ray-traced reflections, and more.

Season: A letter to the future

First announced at The Game Awards 2020 for PS5, Season: A letter to the future is an atmospheric adventure game where you play as Estella, a young woman determined to capture the season of life before it all ends.

Final Fantasy 16

Since its announcement at the PlayStation Games Showcase in September 2020, fans have been thirsty for new information about the 16th main entry in the Final Fantasy series.

Thankfully, during the June 2022 PlayStation Showcase, Square Enix finally gave an update on Final Fantasy 16 via a new trailer showcasing its incredibly polished real-time melee combat and a look at the gigantic battles between various Eikons.
