Players digging into the Vampire Survivors update 0.8.0 beta have discovered the latest relic added to the roguelike game, which allows you to activate a limit overrun feature to push your Vampire Survivors weapon evolutions the most powerful to even stronger forms. The update also includes the promised bestiary and a new dragon character for the vampire game – as developer Poncle’s Luca announced ahead of the update’s release.
Fair warning, of course, that this post goes into some pretty heavy endgame spoiler territory for vampire survivors, so read on at your own risk! You were warned.
The most interesting aspects of the new 0.8.0 update begins with the game’s fifth stage, Capella Magna, which now features a new temporary form. In this case, the usual items are removed from the map by a special “golden hand” reaper that appears at the start of the stage. Surviving until 30 minutes causes a one-time event where all the reapers merge, Megazord-style, to form a super-reaper called “The Ender”. Once you defeat Ender, Capella Magna reverts to its normal state for future runs.
Defeating Ender drops a new relic – the Great Gospel. This Relic allows players to permanently activate “Limit Break” on the in-game stage select screen. Once active, leveling up once all your gear is maxed will no longer grant the usual gold/chicken choice, but instead a variety of incremental upgrades to your current gear. For example, this could include upgrading attributes such as critical chance, piercing, potency, or area size on one of your currently equipped weapons.
Also included in this latest update is the Promised Bestiary, unlocked by collecting the Ars Gouda Relic from the Dairy. There’s also a new addition to the roster of secret Vampire Survivors characters to unlock, a bone dragon named Gains Boros who starts with the Celestial Sword and gains +2% growth with each level, which should play well in the game. new limit mechanism.
A new arcane, “Game Killer”, stops your XP gains and instead turns gems into explosive projectiles. This also guarantees that all treasures will contain at least three items. As for the stuff actually mentioned in the patch notes, you can now see a record of your banished items and when they’re maxed out – provided you don’t break the limit, of course – you can choose to always take the bag of gold regardless, or always take the chicken when you’re low on HP (which will earn you gold if you don’t need healing).
