Fortnite leakers say Lebron James is coming to the game as an Icon Series skin

It seems very likely that NBA superstar Lebron James will take his place in Fortnite soon. Dataminers Hypex and Shiina both say James will be added as an Icon Series skin in the next game update.

Shiina made the initial statement about James arriving as the Icon Series skin, while Hypex gave more details, including that players can earn rewards by completing the King’s Bling quests – James’ nickname among basketball fans, as well as his Twitter account, is King. James — and these items will become “more gold” as you complete quests. If you complete them all, you will have access to a slider that allows you to customize the level of gold visible in the items.

The timing also seems to be right. As Dot Esports noted, James is set to star in Space Jam: A New Legacy, which will debut in theaters and on HBO Max on July 16. A promotional crossover would be a natural fit, and far from unprecedented: Epic participated in a crossover event with the NBA as a whole in May ahead of the 2021 playoffs which included the addition of uniforms for all 30 teams, as well as ‘a new emote and a new bling back.

If James appears in Fortnite as an Icon Series skin, he will join others including Ninja, Lachlan, LazarBean, Major Lazer, Marshmello, TheGrefg, Travis Scott, and Loserfruit. We will let you know if he shows up and when he shows up.
