It’s no secret that Fortnite has had a huge impact on the modern gaming landscape, showing how a free title can be hugely effective in both keeping a passionate player base while making a ton of cash. However, the good things must eventually come to an end, and when interest in the original game inevitably begins to wane, a sequel could be the next step. Here is everything we know about Fortnite 2, with potential release on PS4, PS5, Xbox, PC, Switch, iPhone and Android.
What is the Fortnite 2 release date?
Fortnite 2 will likely launch on November 23, 2023.
This is based on the current Fortnite chapter which is 718 days long, which is the same as the original chapter length. (The second chapter lasted 781 days, but the pandemic likely lengthened development time.) Assuming there isn’t a fourth chapter and Epic Games follows up on the third chapter with a brand new iteration of the game called “Fortnite 2”, the best guess for a release date is November 23, 2023.
Fortnite 2 would undoubtedly be a sequel that builds on the battle royale basics of the original. However, it can also introduce a solo and cooperative element, as was the case with the original Save The World content that Fortnite first launched with.
What platforms will Fortnite 2 be on?
Fortnite 2 is reportedly playable on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iPhone, and Android.
Unless something unexpected happens, like some form of platform exclusivity, Fortnite’s sequel would likely support all modern platforms.
It is still not known if Fortnite 2 is launching for iPhone. As of this writing, the original game is stuck in limbo with iPhone gamers unable to enjoy the latest content.
Fortnite 2 would undoubtedly continue the trend of big crossovers with games, movies, and other media.
