Call of Duty: Vanguard PC pre-load starts early next week

It’s almost time to jump into this year’s Call of Duty game, with Vanguard’s release date set for next Friday. If you’ve pre-ordered the FPS game, you’ll be able to preload it on whatever platform you like, although PC gamers will have to wait a few days longer than console gamers to start devouring the bandwidth. On Xbox and PlayStation consoles, preloading begins today, October 28. On PC, you will be able to preload Vanguard from November 2.

We’re still not sure exactly what the PC storage requirements are for Call of Duty: Vanguard. Activision said that thanks to new texture streaming technology, this year’s Call of Duty will save “up to 30% -50%” on hard disk space on next-gen consoles and PCs, which is a good thing: depending on what bits of current Call of Duty you have installed, this could take up over 200GB of disk space.

On PlayStation 5, Activision says the game will require 89.84 GB, while on Xbox Series X | S the requirement is only 61 GB. The PC installation footprint can land just about n ‘ anywhere, and that will likely depend heavily on your decision to install optional components such as a 4K texture pack.

Activision also revealed some sort of roadmap for the first two months of Vanguard’s upcoming year. The company promises a “truly amazing year” of free content for Vanguard, starting with the November 5 launch.

Launch day will also see the server-side rollout of the initial features of Call of Duty’s new Ricochet anti-cheat system, as well as access to free Vanguard levels on the Black Ops: Cold War Season 6 Battle Pass. .

In the pre-season leading up to Season 1 kicks off on December 2, players will be able to jump into Shipment, which arrives in Vanguard multiplayer on November 17. On November 18, Warzone launches Operation: Flashback, which Activision says is a celebration of the last year and a half of the Battle Royale game mode and a chance to say goodbye to war-ravaged Verdansk.

November 30 and December 1 will hold the “Last Hours of Verdansk” and set things up for the switch to the new Caldera map which will mark the start of a new Season 1 in Warzone.

The season begins December 2, and Vanguard players will see a new set of multiplayer maps and 24-hour exclusive access to the renowned Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific. This day will also see the deployment of the Ricochet anti-cheat driver at the client-side Warzone kernel level.
